I will always be grateful for the care and support we received. Dr Irvin and her staff at the Sugar Land location showed so much compassion and took great care of my little Yogi Bear during this challenging state. They did everything to keep him comfortable and calm while providing great medical care. Allowing me to be there at his side throughout his treatment also helped to make him feel safe. Thank you all for being there when we needed you!!

I am so incredibly grateful to the care team here for saving my 5 year old cat’s life by performing an emergency laparotomy on him after he ingested a linear foreign body. The staff is very competent, communicative, and personable. Special thank you to the surgeon, Dr. Laura Hauser. She is absolutely amazing!!! We brought our cat Felix in for a bad FLUTD flare. The staff tended to him immediately to check for a blockage and gave excellent care throughout. I really appreciated being able to stay with Felix the whole time, including during the ultrasound. One of the staff even stayed with Felix in the exam room while I took a bathroom break (that was extremely sweet, thank you). The veterinarian talked to me for over 10 minutes to make sure I understood the treatment plan and the vet tech did the same. I will definitely keep VEG in mind for the future.

We have been through many emergency rooms for Dogs, regular vets for Dogs and our Bella is 16 1/2 with stage five lymphoma so you can imagine we have been through many different places for different reasons and Veg is just different, special and very good Different. We have found that one of the most important things for us as Pet parents, as well as Dogs in general is making sure that they are not separated at their most desperate times and it appears VEG has solved those issues by allowing us to be with her every moment of her eight hour journey. While this has just begun I do feel it was the right decision to come here and the staff has been fabulous. Highly recommend.

Loved this place! I drove an hour because they came highly recommended! The front desk lady, our two techs and the vet were so kind! They made us immediately feel at ease and checked her out quickly. They answered all my anxious questions and one of the techs brought Lua a blanket to lay on. They are just very caring and I am so grateful for our experience here. Dobby has an inflammation for his foreskin also with little bit bleeding. We were so anxious and worried about him keep licking himself ( already booked the appointment for next morning but still feel need to buy an Elizabeth collar) Thank you Dr. Anderson for helping out! We were in such an anxiety so I kind of lost my ability to organize my language. Every one is super helpful and nice to us, I hope this place goes well and everyone be safe!

I brought my baby Sampson in earlier today, and I’m so grateful for how wonderful everyone was with him. We walked right in and were immediately taken back to a table where I met with Dr. Donaldson and Megan. They listened carefully, asked thoughtful questions, and took the time to make my very nervous boy feel safe and comfortable. When you’re worried about your fur baby, having a vet team that is patient, kind, and genuinely listens means so much. I’m incredibly thankful for the care they gave Sampson today. Highly recommend! ❤️

My dog is anxious, struggles to meet new people and go to new places. She only likes to walk in areas she knows, and although she loves to play she is reactive on leash to other dogs. Obviously, coming into the emergency room was very nerve-wracking. My dog felt so safe at VEG - after our 10 hour visit, when we went outside to wait for our car home - she tried to go back inside the building. Have you ever heard of a dog trying to go back inside the vet’s office? In the middle of a chaotic night - every single person at VEG made me and my dog feel seen, cared for, and safe. They kept me updated all night even as they were helping other people’s pets. Every person still found time to meet my dog on her terms and approach slowly so that she felt 100% comfortable being examined. This is a dog that usually does not let people touch her - and every single nurse and doctor in the office was giving her pets by the end of the visit. I wish I got the names of everyone who helped me last night, but I want to say thank you especially to Isabella, Kat, and Dr. Rushing who were incredible all night long. Going to the vet is scary in part because I worry that I won’t know what’s happening and my dog is going to be taken away from me. My dog was able to wait sleeping in my lap, so she was calm and comfortable during the entire wait. Everyone included me in the conversations and discussions about her care, answered my questions with details, and was just overall kind. Although my dog was not staying overnight at VEG, we were there waiting for quite some time as we happened to be there on a very busy night. I got to see the vet team do several rounds of check ins on their overnight surgical and boarding pets - not just taking vitals and doing a check in with the entire vet team for each animal, but also cuddling each one. Everyone at VEG goes above and beyond to help take care of your pet, and you. Sometimes there is a wait because it is an emergency room, but I NEVER felt forgotten or pushed aside! Because of their open set up, the team was able to quickly update me on what was happening and I was able to understand why there was a delay, rather than just being left in the dark for hours with no idea what was happening. Also, the vet team was able to check in on her still and I was not worried that her condition was deteriorating during the wait. I felt confident that her condition was stable and she was safe. I was able to pick my dog up and put her on the table myself (which was my preference) and be right there next to her when she opened her eyes after the procedure. I noticed her eyes were a little watery afterwards and asked if this was normal, and one of her doctors told me that they put eye drops in for her so her eyes didn’t get dry because they stay open during the procedure. I’ve heard of this for dogs in surgery, but the fact that that after a crazy holiday chaotic shift, they still paid attention to that small detail to make sure my dogs eyes didn’t get uncomfortable during her 30 minute procedure, that says it all for me. It is also worth mentioning that when they gave me the estimate to authorize, there was a $200 item for “additional miscellaneous.” I asked about the fee and they explained it was to cover anything unexpected that might have to be done during the procedure, but that I would be refunded at the end if it was not necessary. I didn’t even have to ask or remind anyone about this at the end of our visit - part of our discharge information was the team informing that there were no additional charges and the refund had already been processed. WOW! I could go on with many more examples, but I will end by saying thank you VEG.❤️ Next time I will get more names for everyone who helped me so I can properly say thank you. VEG ER in Schaumburg took wonderful, personal care of my "baby Boy" Simba the Doberman. He had eaten a lot of a plastic ball (we thought we'd thrown away but he found it under the bed) and in 5 minutes had digested A LOT of it. Our local emergency vet (wonderful folks too) suggested that he get the pieces scoped out and my husband found VEG in Schaumburg. They made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. It is a little "startling" at first because this is an "open air" emergency care facility - and I'd never seen that before. In other words, the doctors and vet techs are all in the open, and you see what's going on (which is rather fascinating, and def. makes you feel more appreciative of all they do). The facility was also very clean and my husband and I appreciated being able to be with our dog the whole time. For some of the procedures, you are invited to watch if you want (hubby - yes, me - no way). There were couches for pet parents, and bed and blankets for your pet after the procedure, and many smiles, encouraging words, comfort and even some laughter. No emergency vet service is going to be "cheap" or anywhere close to the cost of your regular vet during regular hours. However when you experience the expertise, are aware that the anesthesiologist stayed 55 minutes over his shift to ensure that your "baby boy" stayed under and everything was successful, that the Doctor was "excited" to scope out all those darn pieces, and everyone was enamored with your sweet Doberman, you understand that you are paying for an emergency highly specialized service and yep, the cost is gonna reflect that. We are blessed to have found and been treated by VEG ER of Schaumburg.

I wish this animal emergency was open before my other dog passed away. You are able to stay with your pet throughout much of the time. Everything is open and transparent and the staff is very empathetic towards all concerns. All questions answered. The prices are not on the low end but I do not believe i was overcharged, as this is a 24 hour emergency hospital. What a great peace of mind to know there is this kind of care day or night for our animals. Everything is comfortable and yiu can stay with your pet the whole time! Tbe restroom is very clean! Hopefully it stays like that! They have snacks and beverages for the humans. We never want to have to have these visits but just know they are there for our animal babies! Five stars all the way!!

As a veterinary technician for general practice, I was absolutely blown away by the kindness, caring, comforting staff from the second I walked in and was greeted by Gabbie who was absolutely an angel to me my entire visit. I had to rush my 14 year-old diabetic senior dog over there late at night because he declined very quickly and was not well. I did end up doing tests and ultimately euthanized him. I was devastated and heartbroken. But having caring souls around you at a time like that, REALLY MADE A DIFFERENCE AND I CANT STRESS HOW IMPORTANT THAT IS!! During my stay , everyone was hands on with not only Dennis, but ME. They were prompt , hands on, transparent , efficient, professional but also personable people. All of you. I especially want to acknowledge the names that I remember who worked with me and Dennis that night- Gabbie❤️Dr Tiffani ❤️Maddie ❤️Sam ❤️Jess ❤️Floyd. You all made a huge difference and continue to do so whether you are a CSR, technician , veterinarian - you all matter. Thank you from the botttom of my heart

When our exotic bird needed emergency care, the entire team went above and beyond. From the moment we arrived, they treated both us and our bird with compassion, professionalism, and genuine concern. The veterinarian was incredibly knowledgeable about exotic birds, took the time to explain everything clearly, and made sure we understood all of our treatment options. It's obvious that everyone here truly cares about their patients, no matter how small or unique they are. They handled our bird gently and confidently, which gave us so much peace of mind during a very stressful situation. The staff was kind, attentive, and reassuring every step of the way. We're so grateful for the exceptional care our feathered family member received. If you ever need emergency care for an exotic pet, I highly recommend this clinic. Their expertise, kindness, and dedication made all the difference.

Dr. Mortimer and the whole team are exceptional. The manner in which they interacted with both our Goldendoodle and us was nothing short of incredible. The immediate feeling of knowing that we could trust VEG with our girl and leave her while hospitalized, even though we could stay if we chose to, made the experience top notch. Our girl arrived very sick and to be able to have her home in less than 24 hours speaks volumes. The professionalism and patient care provided is not easy to find and the plus is that you could stay with your pet through it all provides a sense of peace, calm and trust that our girl was in excellent hands. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I cannot say enough amazing things about VEG Allen and the entire team, especially Dr. Brown and the Monday night shift team (7/20). Our local urgent care veterinarian referred us to VEG after my dog, Koe, swallowed a corn cob. They had already attempted to induce vomiting without success, so after an almost hour-long drive, we arrived a little after 10:00 PM. From the moment we walked through the doors, we were greeted with smiles and immediately brought back. The hospital itself is unlike any emergency vet I’ve ever seen. Being able to stay with your pet throughout the process or see them at all times even if they required a procedure made an incredibly stressful situation so much more comforting. The team first tried a stronger medication to induce vomiting, but unfortunately the corn cob still didn’t come up. Dr. Brown sat down with me and thoroughly explained our options: endoscopy or surgery. She answered every question I had, never made me feel rushed, and had such a calm, reassuring presence that immediately put me at ease during one of the most stressful nights I’ve had as a pet owner. After talking with my husband, we chose to move forward with an endoscopy since it was less invasive, more cost-effective, and offered a quicker recovery. By the time bloodwork was complete, it was after midnight, and now my birthday. Spending my birthday at an emergency animal hospital definitely wasn’t how I imagined celebrating. Unfortunately, the endoscopy was unsuccessful because of where the corn cob was lodged. Once again, Dr. Brown patiently walked me through our options. She even told us we could have our regular veterinarian perform the surgery the next day if cost was a concern. After another conversation with my husband, we decided to move forward with surgery at VEG because, despite only knowing Dr. Brown for about three hours, I trusted her completely. I was able to watch through the OR window as Dr. Brown successfully removed the corn cob. During surgery, I mentioned to one of the nurses that it was my birthday. When Dr. Brown came out after surgery to tell me everything had gone well, she wished me a happy birthday and said she was sorry this was how I was spending it. That simple kindness meant so much. I stayed until Koe woke up from anesthesia before heading home around 4:00 AM. Before I left, Dr. Brown told me she would personally call with an update between 7:00 and 8:00 AM. At exactly 8:00 AM, my phone rang. She let me know Koe was doing great, explained the plan for the day, and said that if he continued eating well, he could come home that evening. When we returned that night to pick him up after my birthday dinner, I walked over to Koe’s kennel and immediately burst into tears. The staff had decorated his kennel with a Happy Birthday banner, put a birthday headband on Koe, bought cupcakes, a little plant, and a birthday card for me. After such an emotional, exhausting 24 hours running on almost no sleep, that thoughtful gesture was beyond anything I could have ever expected and meant more to me than words can express. The medical care we received was exceptional, but what truly sets VEG apart is the compassion, empathy, and humanity of every single person we encountered. They treated Koe like he was their own, and they treated me with so much kindness during an extremely stressful time. Dr. Brown and the entire Monday night team, you are all absolutely incredible. Thank you for saving my sweet boy and for turning what could have been one of the worst birthdays into one I’ll never forget for all the right reasons. To the VEG leadership team: if you read these reviews, please know that Dr. Brown and the Monday night staff deserve every bit of recognition. They are an incredible group of professionals who exemplify what emergency veterinary medicine should be. I sincerely hope we never have another emergency, but if we do, I will gladly drive an hour back to VEG Allen without hesitation. I will also recommend VEG to every pet owner I know. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

This VET emergency location is truly the best. They are so compassionate, timely, collaborative and supportive during a visit. While emergency vet situations are difficult to navigate, they take their time to ensure you understand what is happening with your pet and what the options are so that you can make a true informed decision about your pets care. Sedation for a Frenchie is very difficult and they took so much time and care to make sure he could breathe and handle procedures without issue. I wish these providers and techs were primary care as I would not hesitate to take my sweet puppies to them for their standard care. With three “Bo’s” being cared for at once, there was no time they were confused. Our Bo received so much love and support while we navigated his swollen gland. He is now home and snuggling with his sister. Thank you for all that you do. You’re truly amazing individuals!

Best pet ER. Been here many times throughout the years and they are always amazing. Amazing service and care from when you enter to when you leave. The doctors/nurses/staff are very smart and on the ball so you feel like you can trust them which takes a lot of stress away. They're also mindful of you and your pets' comfort and can help make the situation easier / more comfortable, particularly for longer visits. The open floor plan is helpful so you can be with your pet, in the loop, easy to find if you have visitors, and always visible to faculty/staff — you never feel forgotten about, confused, or low priority. Just had to leave my pet overnight and felt not only comfortable leaving her in their hands but also relieved. Thank you team

My little jack Russell was in a lot of pain. I called and they were extremely professional and polite. I can't sit in small rooms and that was not a problem. They immediately started checking her right when we arrived. They took really good care of my pup. I highly recommend this animal hospital. Again I highly recommend this animal hospital.

These people are real life angels! If you have an emergency with your pet, there is not a better place to go! They were kind, compassion, patient, sincere, and every other incredible word to describe people who genuinely care about animals and their owners.

A couple of months ago, we had to rush our dog, Acadia, here after we thought she had ingested rat poison. They got her back within minutes and started treatment immediately. Their quick actions more than likely saved her life. The doctors and staff were incredibly caring, compassionate, and kept us informed every step of the way during such a stressful time. We are so grateful for the amazing care they gave Acadia. Thank you all so much!

Got an elderly, special needs pup that’s very dog reactive but he absolutely loves every person he ever encounters. He’s kind of big, a little scary looking and very vocal. We took him to the Oak Brook ED and they were absolutely slammed. The problem is, he needs to be sequestered while he’s at the vet and while they were obviously willing to treat us, it was pretty clear that his needs were going to be a drain on their resources during an especially busy time. The vet came to see us to make sure he wasn’t critical and asked if we’d be willing to go to their Schaumburg location so he could get the attention he needed. While not an ideal option, it was a perfectly reasonable one. She verified that he wasn’t in immediate distress so I packed him up and we made the trip. The folks at Schaumburg were rockstars. They treated us like they knew him already, explained everything clearly and took care of our guy. Everything took as long as it should’ve and the staff, clinical and support, were amazing. No one wants to take a pet to the ED but if you have to, don’t hesitate, these folks know their trade. A huge shout out to the staff at Oak Brook and Schaumburg.
