VEG Emergency Vet in Peabody, Massachusetts

All the ladies were fantastic, Kat, Arissa, Stephane, Kim, Sleepy, Bashful and Dr. Jacobson…I brought my little Yorkie who was pretty sick and they were gentle to my 4lb little guy and even handled me well who was a bit emotional. I appreciate how they went over his panel with me and how kid gloves they were with my little guy. I’m not going to lie, I hope I never have to go back except on Christmas to drop off cheesecake to the fine crew. In all seriousness Thank You all 🙏

This is the only place we want to take our dog in an emergency - the staff are exceptional and the care is top notch!! Our large 12-year old dog (Rugar) was suddenly struggling to breathe, lethargic, and unable to move - so we went straight to VEG. Their team sprung into action by carrying him out of the car when we arrived, assessing him immediately, and then within 5-10 minutes being able to give us an initial picture of what was happening. He was admitted overnight with a comprehensive care plan. They made me comfortable to stay with him (blankets, pillows, pull out couch, snacks, drinks) - and they were constantly checking on him (and me) with love, tenderness and incredible medical/technical skill and know-how. Thank you to Dr. Vitale, Raegan, KiKi, Amanda, and the rest of the team for your immediate action, high quality care, exceptional communication, and the thoughtful time you took to transition us over to new folks at each person’s shift change. This win was all you!! Thank you to Fran, Dr. Peckham, Dr. Li, Amanda, Lexie, and Kim for your constant care and diligence overnight and into the next day. You rocked it. To the folks in charge at VEG - this Peabody team is top notch. The genuine care and concern they show, regardless of how busy they are, is rare to find. Thank you for saving our old boy and for being so supportive of us through that scary time. 💜

We had an excellent experience here- I called before we left the house to see if it was super crowded because if so, I was going to bring my husband to help with our dog. After answering immediately (no recording, a real person)They advised properly and said that he should come along. From the moment we arrived the staff absolutely shined through with customer service. They greet you at the door they guide you, direct you, you get to speak with the doctor the second you come in just to give a quick run down of what’s happening. They put us in what they call a “nook”, which is a sectioned off area with two couches. Everything is open, but there was never a moment that I didn’t feel like we werent getting the privacy that we needed (to keep Our dog from getting riled up). Communication was great, we spent a total of three hours there, but we never felt that we were being ignored. Staff was more than attentive with us and everyone on site. They have free snacks and drinks available, coffee, blankets for your pet to keep them comfy and cozy, they did not miss one thing that could help a stressful situation Be a little bit easier in all honesty. We were very fortunate that our dog just had a nasty abscess in his ear- while we were there, we saw people who had pets that were dealing with much worse issues, people picking up their pets ashes, etc. Staff was extremely accommodating, communicative, and went above and beyond to be comforting to every person that was there. As a business owner I was so impressed that while we were waiting I actually went on a deep dive and read all about how VEG came to be. Impressive! I will say that you will pay for ER services at a higher price than if you go to a regular vet but I was not at all alarmed and happy to pay for the care we received. To me, this is obvious, but I felt it was important to point out since without reading any other reviews, I’m sure people have complained about price. It was well worth it, and when I say, everybody went above and beyond, they truly did. We saw Dr. Peckham, Amanda H., Gabriella, and also had contact with Stephanie, Lori, and Melissa. All were awesome! And MOST important, our guy came home all fixed up! Lastly, they give you an estimated bill for the care plan which you do pay in full via a link prior to getting things going. The woman that was at the door greeting told me that if anything changes they will refund or charge the difference. I was pleasantly surprised to see that we were refunded a portion of the bill, which just reflects the honesty and care that they provide. While I hope to never have to use your services again, I am thankful and impressed!
