VEG Emergency Vet in St. Peters, Missouri

Both of our dogs had to go to the emergency vet yesterday, which was a bummer Fortunately, Mykayla and the team at Veg were so awesome and took such good care of Rad and Barker. When we got there Barker our 90 pound Great Pyrenees couldn’t walk. The team brought a stretcher to help us get her out of the truck and rolled her immediately into a room. With each step of her treatment, they were just so sweet and caring and cared for her as if she were their own pet. They took extra care to do as many x-ray pictures as it took to properly diagnose the problem with her knee. They were very detailed and covered her history and made sure that there were no complications related cancer that she had in the past. Mykayla and Joey had helped treat Rad earlier in the day and they made a point to ask how he was doing after he left. There were just so many special things they did to take special care of our dogs. Too many things to list, but we wouldn’t consider going anywhere else in the future and highly recommend the vets at Veg.

We had the most incredible experience at VEG Mid Rivers, and I truly cannot say enough amazing things about the entire team. We brought our sweet Emma in for care, and from the moment we walked in, they went above and beyond in every possible way to make us feel comfortable, supported, and genuinely cared for. Not only did they take exceptional care of Emma, but they also took the time to care for me as well—which meant more than I can put into words. I recently had back surgery, and being in that environment while in pain and unable to get comfortable was really difficult. Without me even asking, they noticed and brought me a stool so I could prop my feet up and be more comfortable. That level of thoughtfulness and attentiveness is something you just don’t see everywhere. Leaving Emma is incredibly hard for us—we never leave her anywhere—and I was emotional even thinking about it. They reassured me with such kindness, letting me know that if I chose to go home and rest, they would take amazing care of her. When they asked what she enjoys, I mentioned she loves cartoons and snuggling, and they immediately said they would sit with her and let her watch cartoons on their tablet. That absolutely melted my heart. They even offered to make a bed for me there if I decided to stay so I could be more comfortable. That level of compassion is just unmatched. I did end up going home for a bit, and they kept me updated regularly. I called several times (a very worried dog mom!), and every single time they were patient, kind, and reassuring. Not once did they make me feel like I was a bother—in fact, they made me feel completely understood and supported. When Emma was ready to go home, they thoroughly explained everything, answered every question, and made sure we felt confident moving forward. You can truly see their passion for animals and their dedication to what they do in every interaction. While I hope we don’t need emergency care again, I would choose VEG Mid Rivers over and over without hesitation. The compassion, communication, and level of care we received were simply exceptional. Thank you for loving our Emma like your own. ❤️

I had to do one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do tonight… part with my best friend of almost 10 yrs. He was truly an amazing, loving, intelligent and gentle giant. I would highly recommend VEG. Everyone was wonderful, caring, supportive and informative. Because of Duncan’s symptoms and pain after a 20hr overnight visit … I had to make the hardest decision… The team at VEG were overall attentive, caring, kind and provide a professional, supportive, atmosphere. Definitely the first time I’ve seen anything like it. I never had to leave his side. You can even watch them getting X-rays. Thank you, you definitely made a difference in a horribly hard and painful situation. The bed was offered to me, obviously I shared. Not for good sleep… but for being able to be with him as we assessed his declining condition. Had I been anywhere else (that I’m aware of) he’d had spent much of that time alone, in a scary cold place without the person that he trusts and knows.
