An Absolutely Incredible Experience — Compassionate, Professional, and Full of Heart! I cannot say enough wonderful things about VEG Emergency Veterinary Hospital. After rescuing a severely underweight, frantic, malnourished dog from the highway late at night, looked like she had also recently nursed puppies, she was clearly in a very vulnerable condition. I brought her home to help her calm down, give her food and water, and figure out the best place to take her for help. VEG was the first place I called, and from that very first phone call, I knew I was speaking with people who genuinely cared. The woman who answered the phone, whose name I believe was Kristen, was absolutely amazing. She was kind, comforting, professional, and incredibly helpful. She patiently walked me through the entire process, explained what to expect, and provided all the information I needed to feel comfortable bringing the dog in, even though it was already around 11:30 p.m. By the time I arrived, it was a little after midnight, and I was blown away by the entire experience. The facility was spotless, the staff was welcoming and professional, and every single person I encountered was warm, attentive, and compassionate. What touched me most was watching how the staff immediately embraced this sweet dog. They first scanned her for a chip , weighed her and checked her stats and soon after several of the women sat right on the floor with her, offering her water and food, gently petting her, and showering her with the love and reassurance she so desperately needed. She seemed to feel comfortable with them almost immediately. Watching these women surround her with such genuine kindness was incredibly moving. Because she was so underweight and malnourished, the team made arrangements to keep her and ensure she received the care she needed. Their attentiveness, responsiveness, and willingness to go above and beyond gave me so much peace of mind. I rescued this dog because I couldn’t bear to leave her on the highway and get hit by a car-my adrenaline kicked in and I was determined to rescue her! Seeing her welcomed with so much love and compassion meant everything to me! You can tell when people are simply doing a job and when they genuinely have a heart for what they do. This team has heart. Every interaction made me feel that this dog was in good hands and that her well-being truly mattered to them. Hands down, one of the best veterinary experiences I’ve ever had. I am beyond grateful to the entire VEG team, especially the wonderful woman who answered my initial call and every staff member who cared for this sweet girl that night. If you ever find yourself in an emergency with your pet or an animal in need, I cannot recommend VEG Emergency Veterinary Hospital enough. They treated both of us with kindness, patience, and compassion when we needed it most. Dr. Ellebracht and her team of rockstars nursed my pup back to health! They were so loving and kind. Very organized and were happy to answer my million questions I had as a concerned pet parent. Just incredible. Thank you so much VEG team.

Paddington says to thank everyone who pet him and gave him all the attention he demanded. The staff are the reason why Paddington does not associate VEG on Rampart as a negative experience. Thank you to everyone’s help and all the love given to him on our *latest* visit 😭. Thankfully nothing serious this time. Realizing right now that I don’t recall my nurses/techs names’, I am so sorry. I think I was just happy that Paddy was happy and completely forgot to get names. The two ladies kept us updated and offered help throughout our entire stay. They were also so chill with our strange encounter; someone I knew walked in with their own pet concerns. They helped ease those parents immediately. Afterwards our areas merged (while still separate) and the nurse/tech were so good about keeping us updated but keeping patient info confidential. I was able to witness them, and DVM Jones, treat the pet and parents with compassion, offering comfort and understanding throughout, offering options for payments without judgement to the parent’s ability to pay. Unfortunately, the fur babe’s diagnosis was too severe and treatment and recovery would be difficult, so the difficult decision was made for comfort. I hate it came to the conclusion it came to. I could tell the staff were affected, and yet they did the switch up everyone in the medical does where they put their emotions aside and made sure that each fur babe and parent they encountered got the level of care they deserved. The staff even helped me when we were discharged and had my dog and took the other family’s *literal* baby so they could say their goodbyes. We were no longer a patient but they still checked on us and gave Paddington tons of love. The staff at VEG on Rampart are something special, because while it was all tough for the other family, in the end they managed to have the other parent’s laughing. *Thankful for anyone who remembered Paddy from previous visits. You fill his bucket and boost his ego, and this point his name should be Diva Paddington.*
